Learning outside of school: The Städtische Museen Freiburg provide a dynamic setting for exploration, interaction and innovation, offering a wide range of opportunities to engage with art, culture, history and nature.
 
A wide range of educational activities are available for all ages, adapted and developed for the school curriculum and with links for interdisciplinary work.

Bookings

Please note that for organisational reasons there must be at least two weeks between booking and the date of the visit.
 
To ensure that all visitors enjoy their visit, we ask that groups who have not booked a guided tour book by contacting our booking office.

Admission fees

Admission to the museums is generally free for children and young people under the age of 27. Prices for programmes vary according to duration and cost of materials.
 
All-inclusive prices are available for groups or students of up to 15 children:
→ up to 60 minutes: €37.50 + materials
→ 90 minutes: €60 + materials
→ 120 minutes: €75 + materials
 
For programmes with a maximum of 25 children or students, the following costs will be added to the all-inclusive price for each additional person:
 
→ 60 minutes: €2.50 per person
→ 90 minutes: €4 per person
→ 120 minutes: €5 per person
 
Two accompanying persons per group receive free admission.

When do I have to pay?

You pay at the ticket office before your visit, either by cash or card.

How many children can be in a group?

The maximum group size is 25 children, but most programmes are limited to 15 children due to space constraints. Larger groups will be split into smaller groups for parallel tours.
Please note: Groups will follow the same programme and finish at the same time.

How early do I need to arrive at the museum for an event?

Your guided tour starts promptly at the time indicated. We recommend that you allow at least 15 minutes for entry and to leave your belongings in the cloakroom.

Can I take a bag, jacket, food or drink into the museum?

For security reasons, bags (larger than A4) and coats must be left in the cloakroom. The consumption of food and drink is not permitted in the exhibition rooms. Liquids are also not allowed in the exhibition rooms. Our cloakroom is available for storing your personal belongings.

Do I need to bring any materials with me for the practical part of the workshop?

Unless otherwise stated, all materials are provided by the museum and included in the price. Please bring coveralls or protective clothing for creative programmes.

What happens if I need to cancel?

In you need to cancel, please email us at least three working days before your booking date during our office hours. Otherwise we will have to charge you for the cost of the programme.

Do I have to register my group even if I don't book a guided tour?

Yes, you must. Otherwise we cannot guarantee your visit on the date you have requested.
