Dokumentationszentrum Nationalsozialismus

The Dokumentationszentrum Nationalsozialismus has been dedicated to the city's NS history since 2025, and occupies three floors of the former tourist information, built in 1936. In addition to the permanent exhibition and a temporary exhibition area, the historic building also houses seminar rooms, offices and part of the Gertrud Luckner Library. The permanent exhibition provides an insight into the period through objects and biographies. The memorial room in the courtyard commemorates those who were persecuted and murdered in Freiburg and the surrounding area. It should be noted that the confrontation with National Socialism is not yet complete, and future exhibition projects and events will deal with it in greater depth.
