The Freundeskreis Augustinermuseum e. V. has been instrumental in funding new acquisitions to add to the collection, as well as supporting exhibition and research projects. Benefit concerts have also provided additional financial support for the renovation, redesign and furnishing of the museum.
As a demonstration of their commitment, the people of Freiburg have come together to form the Kuratorium Augustinermuseum as a board of trustees for the museum. This initiative aims to facilitate the renovation and redesign of the building as a collaborative civic endeavour in partnership with the City of Freiburg.
The Foundation Augustinermuseum Freiburg was established in 2001 on the initiative of the citizens of Freiburg as an independent, non-profit institution with legal capacity. It received an initial endowment from two institutional donors, which has grown steadily through donations, legacies and bequests.
